On Saturday, we got the new disk of Pinocchio that was just released by Disney. Girls were all supper excited; couldn’t wait till our semi-traditional Saturday family movie night.
We all snuggled on the couch, figured out the logistics of blanket sharing, and started the movie. Not even a third of the movie in, they both get scared. They were scared of the fox and how Pinocchio got locked in the bird cage, and just generally scared.
As a result, Hannah has been waking up with nightmares every single night since then. For four night now, she has come to our room in the middle of the night saying that she had nightmare. And believe me when I tell you, Hannah has “pathetic” patented. That little, squeaky, barely audible, almost crying voice at 3:30 in the morning is not fun a little scary. She usually requires to be taken back to bed and tucked in to her blanket. Then she is back to sleep. I however, have to climb back upstairs, and spend the rest of the night staring into the ceiling.
This morning, Hannah came to me with her nightmare at 5 am. My alarm is due to go off at 6 am and as usual I went to bed late last night. The bad mommy that I am I told her to go back to bed and wait for me, but I never made it out of bed. I think I just fell back asleep because the next thing I remember is my alarm blasting into my ear.
I hope this stops soon. I talked to Hannah this morning and we talked about how Pinocchio escapes the bird case and the bad fox and returns back to his father and becomes a real boy. Some how Hannah did not seem convinced and thus I am expecting a visitor in the middle of the night again, tonight.
